Norway spruce

Picea abies

Norway spruce is a light-coloured, lightweight and relatively soft coniferous wood native to Finland. It is easy to work with and offers good strength in relation to its weight. Its pale colour and distinct grain pattern make it a versatile material for construction and woodworking.

Spruce contains resin, but its heartwood and sapwood are almost identical in colour. It is well suited for both structural applications and interior design. Spruce is widely used in construction, panelling and various woodworking projects.

Common uses:
• construction timber and wooden structures
• interior panelling and decoration
• furniture
• joinery and crafts
