Larch
Larix sibirica
Larch is a dense-grained, strong and relatively heavy softwood. Its heartwood is warm reddish-brown, while the sapwood is pale yellow. The distinct growth ring patterns and beautiful colour variations give the wood a striking and lively appearance.
Larch contains a high amount of resin, and its heartwood has good natural resistance to decay. It is particularly suitable for applications where durability and weather resistance are important. Larch is also valued in interior design and woodworking for its attractive appearance.
Common uses:
• decking and outdoor structures
• exterior cladding
• furniture
• flooring and interior panelling
• joinery and crafts
